Amaravati, October 23 – A delegation of Muslim community leaders, including representatives from various organizations such as the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, along with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs, met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat today. The delegation, which also included Minister N.M.D. Farooq, former Legislative Council Chairman Sharif, Moulana Mujaddidi General Secretary, AIMPLB, Dr. Abdul Qadeer, Chairman Shaheen Group, Moulana AbuTalib Rehmani, Member AIMPLB and other minority leaders from the TDP, raised serious concerns over the proposed amendments to the Waqf Act by the Central Government.

They stated that the changes would undermine the authority of the Waqf Board and hurt the sentiments of Muslims across the country.
During the meeting, the delegation submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, urging him to oppose the proposed amendments in Parliament. They stressed that the Waqf Act plays a crucial role in protecting Muslim religious and charitable properties, and any changes to it should be made with careful consideration.

He emphasized the importance of safeguarding the rights of minorities and stated that he would discuss the issue with relevant stakeholders before making a final decision.
