SMOOTH FUNCTIONING OF TELANGANA WAQF BOARD SO THAT THE WAQF INSTITUTIONS  REACH ENTITLED BENEFICIARIES AND FOR COMMUNITY AMELIORATION .

Waqf Today : Reporter

Hyderabad :It is well appreciated that Minorites Welfare Department , Govt of Telangana, has issued Memo dated 06.01.2026 authorizing the CEO of Telangana Waqf Board  to take action relating legal matters for the smooth functioning of the Board, among other financial matters too.  We call for its thorough implementation with full cooperation/support from the Chairman and staff of the TGWB. The  TGWB cannot be an arena for ego, power games, and corruption etc.

The Waqf institution being a spiritual exercise of charity with socio-economic dimensions, should be the most scrutinized and managed by people of high integrity and knowledge, as a charitable trust.

The recommendations and suggestion by the well known activist  Dr Lubna Sarwath As such, we also draw attention of  the Hon’ble Minister for Minorities Welfare & the Secretary MWD,  that there is no cadre requirement determined as per administrative standards till date for Telangana waqf board.

An RTI filed for list of regular, outsourced, temporary staff in TGWB is pending since months at the TGWB.

It is observed that instructions of the CEO given as per rule of law and in fairness are not being complied by staff of TGWB.

Once again urge that waqf institutions have to be used for amelioration of the community on education, health, enterprise, employment. Any corruption and compromise is not acceptable and to be totally weeded out from TGWB.

Master Plan be prepared for Entitled to be identified and upliftment targets should be precision based. Only with such precision can our state and rest of the country progress on Happiness and Wellbeing Indices, ensuring equal opportunity for all and equal application of law for all, as enshrined in our Constitution and as being reiterated time and again  by Hon’ble Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi ji and Ministery of Minority Affairs  (MOMA) to ensure minority empowerment through institutions established by constitutional frame work.
