BALLOT INQUILAB – A NIZAMABAD WARD THAT SET AN EXAMPLE FOR THE COUNTRY AND OWES A STANDING OVATION
Hyderabad : The municipal election in Telangana. The Nizamabad Municipal Corporation , Ward No. 12 consisting 99% Muslim Minority Voters elect lone non-muslim candidate Arundhati Dhumale, as their Corporator for Nizamabad Municipal Corporation, Telangana fielded by the Indian National Congress, set against 8 muslim co-contestants –
On 11.02.2026 when Telangana state went to local polls there was a quiet ballot Inquilab by the voters of Ward 12 of Nizamabad Municipal Corporation.
Giving her a decisive lead of over the AIMIM candidate, voters from the 99% muslim minority ward elected Dhumale Arundhati, from Indian National Congress as their Corporator. Not to mention the voters chose the INC non-muslim candidate set against 8 muslim co-contestants, is a silent exemplary revolution in itself for the country to emulate to set a voter pattern that is not based on religion card but on value-based work and progress-oriented campaign set out by the Indian National Congress in the ward.
The poor but enlightened voters determinedly chose progress over religion card, money power and muscle power that they have faced for decades. They defied the MIM, the BRS and the BJP while they defended and trusted the Indian National Congress. The ward 12 voters have set an example for the entire country.
It is such candidates like Dhumale Arundhathi who have trust of voters that can also serve as progressive Mayors , and the voters who have taken such an ideal decision be recognised with due respect through Mayorship of NMC to their elected candidate.
They, the women, youth and voters from all walks, decisively ousted the hypocrisy of the 3 parties chiefly the AIMIM and gave a thumping majority to the INC. While INC polled 2264 out of 4040 total valid votes, AIMIM got 1501, BRS 165 , BJP 22 and MBT 67.
During the election campaign it was observed that poor voters fondly recalled how their older generation stay in the Indiramma Indlu given by pre-2014 Congress regime.
The well known activist and congress leader Dr Lubna said that Country should now watch out for more such ballot-inquilabs on the path laid down by our Constitution of India and on the path being exhorted by our Congress leadership.
The Ward No. 12 Inquilabi , wisdomful election of Dhumale Arundhathi is dedicated to none other than our Hon’ble Leader of Opposition our beloved (Har dil Azeez) Janab Rahul Gandhi ji, whose words of ‘bhai bhai se judaa hone na doonga’ and ‘nafrat ki bazar me mohabbat ki dukaan’ continuous to resonate on the ground.
