Ministry of Minority took initiative high resolution mapping of Waqf Properties;
Waqf Today
Delhi : Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, convened a meeting with the Surveyor General and his team to deliberate on the conduct of a digital survey of Waqf properties. Senior officials of the Ministry were also present during the meeting.
The discussions focused on the deployment of advanced technologies, including drone-based mapping and rover-enabled surveys, to enhance accuracy, transparency, and efficiency. It was mutually agreed to undertake a pilot digital survey in five districts of Haryana.
As per expert opinion Irony is that earlier this exercise was done by MoMA in 2019 and partial geo-tagging/ mapping under well Known WAMSI project of all registered Waqf properties ( 8.84 Lacs).
Then why the same exercise by this government again, whether repetition of work due to lack of vision lead towards misuse of public fund? If so then government must justy the reasons behind current initiative
The UMEED Portal is still not working well and lot of technical issues yet not resolved .
However this meeting was constructive and resulted in a clear roadmap for taking the initiative forward.
