Waqf Boards are responsible for registrations of Waqf Properties: Secretary , Minority Welfare , Govt of India.
More than 59% Waqf properties are without Mutwalis, It would be very difficult to registered the properties on Portal.: Waqf W Forum
Lucknow : A delegation of the Task Force under Waqf Welfare Forum managed by Jb Jawed Ahmad founder Chairman Waqf Welfare Forum & led by Jb Anis Ansari National Coordinator presented a memorandum along with Jb Shahid Siddiqui. Spl Secretary (r) and Jb Tarique Siddiqui , Secretary & Ex President AMUOBA, Lucknow for accelerating registration of Auqaf properties on UMEED Portal to Dr Chandra Shekhar Kumar IAS , Secretary Minority Affairs Govt of India , & Ms Sanyukta Samaddar IAS , Principal Secretary Minority Development, Waqf Govt of Uttar Pradesh , Director Minority Dept. and CEO – Shia Waqf Board on 30th Aug 25 at Lok Bhavan Lucknow.
The Following points were made :
1- It will be useful for the Union & state Govt , especially Depts of Revenue & Minorities Development, to do closer supervise & monitoring of the process of registration by engaging with Waqf Boards , Mutawallis , beneficiaries & Anjuman etc to execute the work speedily & within prescribed time schedule( remaining in 03 Months).
This model of cooperative implementation of govt welfare schemes with the stake holders & beneficiaries has been a successful & tested one in so many sectors like maintenance of land records , consolidation ( Chakbandi ) , health & education & emergencies like floods & droughts etc
2 – According to the survey done by the Waqf Survey Commissioner Govt of UP during year of 1976-86, approx. 60,000 graveyards & 35,000 mosques registered in Sunni Waqf Board that don’t have income & very few mutawallis or management committees to take over the responsibility of registering these Auqaf properties on UMEED Portal Therefore the Union & state govt need to activate Waqf Boards to shoulder the responsibilities.
3- The Waqf Welfare Forum as a volunteer organisation their resources to work for registration of graveyard, mosques & other non remunerative Auqaf in collaboration with the state Govt and Waqf boards .
Secretary, categorical stated that no further time line would be extended from Government side,
Mutwalis or Waqf Board can approach Tribunal or Supreme Court only.
Hope both Sunni and Shia Waqf Board utilise the Waqf Welfare Forum resources to speed up in registration of Waqf Amlaq on Portal.
