Hyderabad : 12 Sept 2025, Awaam(People’s) Waqf Resolutions were submitted to Hon’ble Minister for Minorities, Shri Adluri Laxman garu. We had a discussion and he assured that he is trying to resolve the issues discussed.
Waqf is a specialised subject and needs a focused attention, he said. We had pointed out that the Waqf Board is irregular with corruption; a functional CEO was removed citing subjudice Act, even though the CEO had a higher rank than Deputy Secretary; all the staff at the Waqf Office were underqualified drawing high salaries.
When such is the set up how can the Islamic charitable institution of Waqf be protected and used for the beneficiaries, was our worry that we explained to the Minister garu and urged for earliest resolution.
The delegation meet Minority Minister, lead by Dr Lubna Sarwath, Social & Environmental Activist, Indian National Congress; Prof Anwar Khan, Jago Telangana; Nayeem allah Shareef, Waqf Protection Council; Ahmed Hameeduddin, Movement for Peace & Justice; Hyderabad.
Waqf Welfare Forum has appreciated Dr Lubna intiative, Forum has already updated issues related to registration on UMEED Portal with Dr Shekhar Kumar , Secretary Minister of Minority GoI and UP state Principle Secretary in Lucknow during Zonal review meeting .The other states also may coordinated with state official to ensure protection of waqf properties and registration on portal.
